ABOUT THE EMPLOYER

Our client is a leading US-based Managing General Agent (MGA) and specialty insurance provider. They offer industry-tailored insurance programs and wholesale brokerage solutions across niche commercial sectors through a network of trusted carriers.

They are building a modern core platform to replace legacy system.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

  • Turn the prototype into production React, keeping the design system clean as it grows

  • Build complex forms: a quote form whose questions change by program and state, with validation, prefill and saved progress

  • Build dense data screens: policy records, billing schedules, queues and tables that underwriters live in all day

  • Build three views of one app: the agent portal, the staff workspace and the insured’s self-service pages

  • Work with the backend team on API contracts, and take client feedback after each demo straight into the next build

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • 5+ years of frontend engineering, 3+ of them in React and TypeScript

  • Comfortable with Vite, React Router, Tailwind and shadcn/ui (or a similar component library)

  • You’ve built large forms and data-heavy business apps, not only marketing sites

  • Good UI/UX judgment. You notice when spacing, states or copy are off, and you fix them

  • Experience consuming REST APIs and handling loading, error and empty states properly

  • You use AI coding tools every day and know where they go wrong

  • Clear spoken and written English

  • Insurance or fintech experience is a plus

ARE THERE ANY OTHER REQUIREMENTS?

  • You can take a design and ship it close to pixel-perfect without hand-holding

  • You ask questions when a screen doesn’t make sense, instead of building it anyway

  • You care about the people using the app eight hours a day
