Our client provides easy-to-use mobile and web tools designed to help contractors run their businesses more efficiently. Its platform enables professionals to create estimates and invoices, collect payments, manage customer interactions, and keep track of projects from anywhere. The goal is to help contractors save time, present a more professional image, win more work, and get paid faster.
Our client is looking for for a DevOps Engineer to support our their product by building, maintaining, and improving AWS cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, platform reliability, and developer tooling. This role will also contribute to the client’s application through maintenance tasks, dependency upgrades, and small engineering changes.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
Implement and maintain AWS infrastructure using ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, RDS, Route 53, and VPC.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CloudFormation.
Build scalable, secure, reliable, and highly available platform solutions.
Monitor production systems using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and AWS cloud-native tools.
Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Bitbucket.
Perform Ruby on Rails application maintenance, including Ruby/Rails upgrades, dependency updates, and security patches.
Contribute code to improve application operations, infrastructure, performance, and reliability.
Troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues across development, staging, and production environments.
Collaborate with development, SRE, security, and product teams to deliver reliable solutions.
Improve automation, documentation, logging, monitoring, and operational processes.
Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Participate in an on-call rotation for two consecutive weeks approximately once every 8 to 10 weeks.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Experience of DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Software Engineering, or related experience.
Hands-on AWS experience (ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, Route 53, VPC).
Experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
Working knowledge of serverless architectures and cloud-native application patterns.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with monitoring and observability solutions such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
Programming experience in Ruby, Python, Bash, or similar languages.
Experience working with Ruby on Rails, including application maintenance, dependency management, and version upgrades.
Comfortable making small-to-medium code changes in an existing application and troubleshooting issues across both application and infrastructure layers.
Understanding of IAM, secrets management, encryption, and cloud security best practices.
Experience working with databases and production application environments.
Experience working in Agile environments.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across application and infrastructure concerns.
3–4 hours of overlap with U.S. Eastern Time
