ABOUT THE EMPLOYER

Our clients is a fast-growing, VC-backed retail audit and execution platform that leverages shoppers and CVAI to diagnose planogram compliance and empower merchandising, category management, and other workflows. You’ll be working with a small, dedicated, and fast-moving team that respects one another deeply.

We’re hiring a QA Tester to manually test our client’s products before they reach users. Today, bugs are often caught by the customers and shoppers rather than by the team—especially around their video uploader, dashboard updates, and admin workflows. We need a sharp set of eyes that can catch issues before release.

This is a fully remote contract role starting at roughly 5–10 hours per week, with the potential to expand based on release cadence and fit.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

You’ll test across:

• A data-heavy analytics dashboard used by CPG brands

• A React Native iOS and Android app used by our shopper workforce to capture in-store video audits

• A Ruby on Rails admin used internally for video review, operations, and account management

• Manually test new features, bug fixes, and releases across web (dashboard), mobile (iOS/Android), and admin before they ship to production

• Reproduce reported bugs reliably, document steps to reproduce, and capture screenshots/screen recordings

• Test the video capture and upload flow on real mobile devices across varying network conditions (Wi-Fi, cellular, poor connectivity)

• Review admin tooling changes—including video review workflows and Rails admin updates—for regressions

• Write and maintain clear, repeatable test cases for our core user flows (shopper assignment completion, dashboard filters, admin review queues, etc.)

• Triage and file bugs with enough detail that engineering can act on them without follow-up questions

• Catch edge cases: empty states, error states, permissions issues, offline behavior, large datasets, unusual user inputs

• Partner with engineering and product to verify fixes and sign off on releases

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• 2+ years of manual QA experience on web and mobile applications

• Hands-on experience testing native mobile apps (iOS and Android), including device-specific behaviors

• Experience filing detailed bug reports in tools like Asana, Jira, or Linear, and comfort with Google Sheets for tracking test coverage

• Comfortable using screen recording tools (Loom, etc.) to capture and communicate bugs

• Access to both an iOS device and an Android device for testing (or willingness to use a service like BrowserStack)

• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced startup environment

ARE THERE ANY OTHER REQUIREMENTS?

• Experience testing video capture, upload, or media-heavy mobile features

• Familiarity with data-heavy dashboards or analytics products

• Experience testing Ruby on Rails admin interfaces

• Familiarity with error tracking tools like Rollbar or Sentry

• Retail, CPG, or merchandising domain experience

• Experience with or desire to learn setting up automated testing using libraries like Playwright
