The company provides web and mobile applications for small business contractors to estimate, invoice, collect payments, manage projects, and run their businesses from anywhere.

They are looking for an experienced front-end engineer who can step into an established web codebase, ramp quickly, and deliver high-quality work across contractor, homeowner, billing, and shared UI surfaces.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Web Developer who will:

  • Own Frontend Development: Contribute as a full team member to customer-facing web applications, working primarily with React and existing legacy codebases.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with product, design, backend, iOS, and Android engineers to deliver polished and reliable experiences.

  • Navigate Mature Codebases: Work effectively within an established JavaScript ecosystem, including React and Ember, while following existing architecture and development patterns.

Key Expectations:

  • Autonomous Execution: Quickly understand an existing frontend codebase and begin making meaningful contributions within the first few weeks.

  • Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable JavaScript and TypeScript and actively participate in code reviews.

  • Delivery Focus: Break down frontend projects, communicate blockers early, and consistently deliver reliable features.

  • User Experience: Focus on responsive design, accessibility, browser compatibility, performance, and smooth user interactions.

  • Legacy-Codebase Judgment: Make pragmatic improvements to mature applications without unnecessarily rewriting existing systems.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • 5+ years of professional frontend web development experience

  • Strong experience with React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern component-based frontend development

  • Experience with TypeScript in production applications

  • Experience with Redux, Redux Toolkit, React Router, and API-driven frontend state management

  • Strong experience with Material UI / MUI, Emotion, SASS/SCSS, or similar styling systems

  • Experience working with REST APIs, Axios, and backend-integrated web applications

  • Experience with frontend testing using Jest, React Testing Library, Enzyme, or similar tools

  • Familiarity with frontend build tooling such as Create React App, Vite, Webpack, Rollup, and Yarn

  • Experience with ESLint, accessibility-minded development, and code review workflows

  • Ability to debug production frontend issues using browser tools, logs, Datadog RUM, Sentry, or similar observability tools

  • Strong communication skills across product, design, backend, mobile, and QA teams

ARE THERE ANY OTHER REQUIREMENTS?

  • Experience with Storybook and shared component libraries/design systems

  • Experience with Playwright, Cypress, or WebdriverIO test automation

  • Experience with Apollo GraphQL

  • Experience with feature flags, analytics/event tracking, or experimentation

  • Experience with payments, subscriptions, invoicing, documents, or billing workflows

  • Experience modernizing older frontend applications incrementally

  • Experience working across multiple web apps or shared frontend packages in a larger product ecosystem
