WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

  • Manage weekly or bi-weekly vendor payment runs and partner remittance

  • Reconcile corporate credit cards and support month-end close tasks including bank reconciliations, accruals, and balance sheet schedules

  • Prepare and post journal entries in NetSuite

  • File monthly sales taxes across US states and Canadian provinces, coordinating with partners as needed

  • Handle ad hoc financial reporting and support annual audit processes

  • Process semi-monthly payroll for employees in Canada and the US, including managing payroll taxes, benefits, and related filings

  • Administer employee expense reimbursements

  • Collaborate closely with finance leadership to improve processes, controls, and automation

  • Communicate effectively during a 3-hour overlap with US/Canada teams for coordination and reporting

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Proficiency with finance and payroll software including NetSuite, Tipalti, Avalara, WagePoint, Asure, Fyle, or comparable software, with a strong willingness and ability to learn quickly

  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping, payroll processing, tax compliance, and month-end close procedures

  • Experience with US and Canadian payroll tax regulations and filings is preferred, but candidates with strong willingness to learn will also be considered

  • Ability to take full ownership of assigned tasks, manage priorities effectively, and deliver accurate work on time

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high data integrity and compliance

  • Proactive in identifying process inefficiencies and suggesting improvements

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a lean, remote team

  • Effective and timely communicator during the 3-hour overlap window with US/Canada leadership

  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and learn new systems and processes as the business evolves

  • The team is US based, that’s why it’s important to cross time with the EST for at least 3 hours
